Mini Guide To China

China is known as “The People’s Republic of China”, and covers a landmass of over 3.7 million square miles, that’s almost as big as the Unites States. China has over 3 times the population of the USA, therefore allowing it to have many cities, and places to explore. Some of these cities include Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Harbin, Hong Kong and Chengdu.

China, being a large landmass, has a variety of deltas, plains, hills, mountains, and even deserts, for the avid explorer. Or if you prefer to relax and enjoy China, travel to the south, where there is tropical weather, beaches, and a blend of culture. China also borders Russia, and Siberia, so the farther north you travel the colder it will get.

The people in China are referred to as the “Chinese”. China has a population of over 1.3 billion people, that’s four times the amount of people in the United States. Unlike the United States, China had to control its population growth, thus China has implemented a policy of allowing for only one child per family with some minor exceptions. Also China has a culture to want male sons, to carry out the family name. Travel to China and experience sights that are not available in the United States, and experience a culture that will blow you away!

Due to China’s immense history, there are many different groups living in China. These ethnic groups are relatively small, because the Han Chinese makes up 91% of the Chinese population. Unlike the United States, which speaks only English and a little Spanish, the Chinese speak over seven major dialects! 70% of the population uses Mandarin, and the remaining 40% use other dialects to speak. Unlike America where everything is in English, in China people from the West can’t communicate with the people from the East, due to the different dialects. This can cause them to have different cultures, and history. As you travel to different parts of China, be prepared to experience new people, with developing cultures, languages, and exotic foods.

China has no set religion, and most of the people in China are considered to be atheist. China supports religions views and ideals that flow with government decisions, and won’t disrupt important government decision-making. However Buddhism is the most practiced religion in China, with over 100 million worshipers. The second most popular religion in China is Taoism, and many small religions such as Muslim, and Christianity are in China as well. Many government decisions revolve around religion in the United States, such as abortions, however in China the government only wants religions that will not oppose its decisions. Experience a new form of government in China, and a new set of rules, that are very different than the ones found in America.
